Angelo Boutalikakis
Angelo Boutalikakis builds products and leads transformations. He spent nine years at McKinsey & Company and holds a PhD in strategic management.
Angelo Boutalikakis is a strategy, transformation, and product leader based in Zurich. He joined McKinsey & Company in 2017. As Engagement Manager he leads engagements across Europe, the US, India, and Sub-Saharan Africa. His teams combine consultants, designers, engineers, and data scientists. He advises C-suite and board-level clients.
Product building runs through his career. As Product Owner, he redesigned the invoicing and self-help journeys of a Swiss digital telco. NPS rose. Resolution times, complaints, and cancellations fell. He then led the product workstream for a new consumer-health product at a global medical-device company. His team analyzed 40,000 consumer data points and designed the consumer journey. He presented the product vision to the company's Chairman and CEO. The product launched in the UK and the US in 2024.
In insurance and healthcare he leads large transformations. He led the Group IT workstream of a Swiss insurance post-merger integration. The workstream identified IT cost synergies of ~30–40%. At a European multi-line insurer he identified an IT cost reduction of 30%+ and a €50m claims-cost reduction plan. He designed a cybersecurity asset-risk process for a global insurer's technology function. He built a CHF ~90bn Swiss healthcare-spend database in Python and Tableau.
Angelo builds and ships AI tools himself. His projects include an MCP server on Swiss health-insurance data, a scheduled news digest, and an art-market newsletter. He advises several early-stage startups in AI and digital health.
He holds a PhD, magna cum laude, in strategic management from Universität Passau. He holds a Master's degree in Quantitative Economics and Finance from HSG, where he finished top of his class. His research on media, flattery, and executive communication appeared in the Journal of Product Innovation Management, the Academy of Management Proceedings, and INTERSPEECH. He co-authored "What Makes a Company 'Future Ready'?" in Harvard Business Review.
